A program guide for addressing arrested development in adult males

MALE TO MAN: Sixteen weekly sessions of video, group discussion, peer feedback and honest homework — the only approach that has ever produced male maturity: self-examination.

Watch

Twenty-one seconds. Who we are.

A short introduction to the MALE To MAN (M2M) Recovery Project — a 501(c)(3) non-profit — and what it offers the men it serves. Captions are part of the video.

The premise

Nobody grows out of it. Men grow through it.

Urban males in America disproportionately carry the effects of arrested development and toxic masculinity. Very few programs are built to name it plainly and work it through in a room with other men.

M2M draws on more than fifty years of combined life experience and cognitive awareness training. It does not diagnose and it does not medicate. It asks a man to examine what he believes about manhood, where he got it, and what it has cost him.

The MALE To MAN (M2M) RECOVERY PROJECT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides sober-living housing, mental health referral services, addiction recovery workshops, and community resources to support individuals on their journey to wellness and personal growth.

Built for groups

Classroom or circle, 8–15 men, once a week. Can be compressed when a program calendar requires it.

Documented by design

Sign-in sheets, weekly homework and handouts are already part of the curriculum — the paperwork funders ask for.

Facilitator-scripted

Every session has a guide: what to say, what to play, what to hand out, what to ask.
